All that blog says is that Vista offers business users eye candy and search ... something already available in XP. What it doesn't mention - and I think that this is important for business - is that the GUI and user accounts have been arranged to make Vista a much MORE SECURE SYSTEM yet CAPABLE right out-of-the-box. It's not just eye-candy and a search bar, rather a reapproach to how the user will be interacting with the system that will make computing 'safer' and more efficient for everyone, including the business user, but also the entire online community.

Scary. But there are months and months - about half a year - to ETA. The April CPT, should being made widely available, will be sure to bring many things to light for the MS developers, in my opinion.

Where does it say "November" in that blog ?
What I see is :

If the blog was changed, the owner of the blog did so after the error was pointed out. This is an example why blogs are not official. The chances of this happening on the official site are less because of the review process which does not exist on the personal blog.
But I should say I would consider these blogs more reliable than non Microsoft sites. The give a way that I would discount this blog was the statement that November was the date since Microsoft avoids such statements.

Blogs are NOT official, even blogs such as this written by Microsoft on the Microsoft server. These blogs have been in error in the past and there is no guarantee it is correct now.
"Official" doesn't necessarily mean "correct". Many times MS has issued an "official" statement and then retracted it later. The only thing official means is that it's directly from a MS employee in a position of authority concerning the statement and not an outsider. Of course the Excel project director couldn't make an official statement about the availability of Vista but anyone on the Vista project could, whether Gates et al approved it or not.

"Juan T. Llibre" wrote in message Where does it say "November" in that blog ? While the date may be November, the ending of Beta Experience is no proof of any date including November. All these statements as fact have a good chance of causing problems. These theories you and others attempt to pass as facts get carried and if the release date is later, some will complain that Microsoft is late and ask--why? When in fact it is not late since Microsoft made no such claim, only those wishing to be the first to claim they knew the date.
On the other hand if you can point us to a Microsoft site that verifies November... Otherwise please you should stop posting guesses as fact.

Statements and all other content on the Microsoft website goes through a review process to help ensure accuracy. Blogs do not and thus often have misinformation.
Nothing is perfect but because of the process, the Microsoft site is far more reliable than a personal blog even if the blog is a Microsoft employee on a Microsoft blog.

How childish. (1) the previous post was not off topic & you know it. (2) the post was not "official" as you labelled the subject. (3) finalisation of the Beta Experience Program to "guess the final date" is no proof of anything with regard to November. Grow up & stop posting false information here.

Does anyone knows when personal desktop/laptop computer manufacturers will have Windows Vista for sale? Will this usually before or after the full version/upgrade disc sales?
Also, can anyone tell more about this minimal system requirements for running Windows Vista?

Officially, business will be able to get it in Nov. 2006, whilst the rest of the consumers can get it January 2007.
